It is open to the public and you are encouraged to make reservations online or by phone. While the Civil War was actually going on many prisoners had to be transported by the water back to the fort. This is how the made it to Delaware City. The forts are actually open to the public, and now you get the chance to ride them, just to get a bit of a feeling. This happened way back in 1863, but it will bring some of those events back to life You will also be able to see the union soldiers that will be practicing their drills on your exciting adventure.
